The district of Coorg enjoys good location as well. It is covered by Dakshina Kannada District in the Northwest, the Hassan District in the North, the Mysore District in the East, the Kannur District of Kerala State in the Southwest, and the Wayanad District of Kerala in the South. Because of its proximity with various towns and cities, it is easier for tourists to reach Coorg.
Coorg is well connected by all means of transportation such as airways, roads and railways. Coorg is located at a distance of 120 km from Mysore, 155 km away from Hasan, 135 km away from Mangalore and 250 km from Bengaluru.
Coorg Tourism also offers mouth-watering cuisines as well. Some of the dishes that you must try are Kadumbuttu (Rice Dumplings) Koli Curry (Chicken Curry) Nool Puttu (Rice Noodles) Bamboo Shoot Curry (Bamboo Shoot Curry) Votti (Rice Roti).

The Historical Place of King
Gaddige also known as Gadduge, the tombs of King Virarajendra, Linga Rajendra and one of their court priests was built in the 18th century. This tombs rest in the northern corner of the town is an important monument of the town.It is situated within the town of Madikeri.

Kings Fort

Madikeri Fort is one of the tourist spots in Coorg which you can’t afford to miss. It is situated within the town of Madikeri.The museum is not maintained by the state archaeology department. There are other buildings as well inside the fort. These are Mahatma Gandhi Public Library, the Kote Maha Ganapathi temple.

Raja Seat
Raja’s Seat or the Seat of the King is a famous sunset point in Madikeri in the Coorg district of Karnataka. It was once the platform from which the kings of Kodagu used to enjoy glorious sunsets. The spot got its name as it was the favourite recreational place for the kings. Today it is a famous destination of Madikeri that is visited by tourists throughout the year.Raja’s Seat is situated within the town of Madikeri. The place is easily accessible from any part of the town. The place is about 285 kilometres from Bangalore.

Abbay Falls

Abbey Falls, also known as Abbi Falls, is located around 10 kilometres away from the town of Madikeri and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in and around Coorg. The water cascade coming down from the cliff from a height of 70 feet provides a spectacular scene to behold. Nestled within the lush greenery which is typical to the sceneries of Western Ghats, the waterfalls attract hundreds and thousands of people throughout the year - especially nature lovers and photographers. The waterfall is located between private coffee plantations with stocky coffee bushes and spice estates with trees entwined with pepper vines. 

Iruppu Falls
This is one of the most popular waterfalls in Coorg, known for its splendid sight and plush green surrounding. You must visit this enthralling beauty during monsoon or winter to witness one of the most beautiful sights in Coorg.
Iruppu Falls is approx. 80 km from Madikeri town and 25 km from Nagerhole. One can hire a direct taxi to reach the end of the road, and then a steep 500 m walk to reach the falls. For more accurate directions, ask the locals around

Mallali Falls
Mallalli Falls are located at the foot of Pushpagiri Hill Ranges in Bettadahalli Gram Panchayat in Somwarpet Taluk of Coorg district. These falls are created when the River Kumaradhara flow down from over 200 feet creating a mesmerising scene which is worth remembering all our lives.
The falls are situated at a distance of 25 kilometres from Somwarpet and 42 km from Kushalnagar. One can hire a private vehicle as well from any of these nearby towns and reach the falls comfortably. There are buses as well from Somwarpet to the Hanchinalli which is the nearest village to water the falls. One can also go till Bidalli, another place which is quite close to Somwarpet. It is just 2.5 km from the falls.

Dodmane Falls
Also known as Burude Falls, this is a marvellous 5 step waterfall surging down narrow forested creeks. Dodmane Falls is located at the outskirts of Coorg, offering stunning view of the surrounding. One needs to trek a little to reach Burude, which is one of the extremely popular Coorg waterfalls Karnataka. If you are looking for some peace during the peak season, this is the place you should be heading to.
The waterfall is located approx. 6 km from Siddapura. You can take a taxi to reach the end of the road, and then walk approx. 1 km to reach the falls

Chelavara Falls
Chelavara Falls is one of the most picturesque waterfalls near Coorg, best known for its splendid vista and magnificent size. Locally known as Emepaare, meaning tortoise; this one looks full and gorgeous during monsoon.
The waterfall is located approx. 15 km from Virajpet. After reaching the end of the road, you’ll have to trek on a slippery path to reach the falls.

Mandal Patti Hill Station
Located at a distance of 25- 30 km from Madikeri town, Mandalpatti is a popular tourist spot. A lush green mesmerising place, Mandalpatti has recently become popular amongst tourists. The place is way from the hustle bustle and offers some seclusion and calmness. It is perfect place to go for trekking. However, to go for trekking, one is required to take entrance tickets from the authorities at the base of Mandalpatti.
To reach Mandalpatti, you are required to go through a deviating road which is 4 km before Abbey Falls. There are no buses running to the destination. Thus, it is better to hire a private vehicle. It is better to avoid visiting this place during rainy season as the road is still not fully developed and thus path can be rough and slippery during heavy rain days.
